About Opalout Post

A place to play, eat and rest, run by people who enjoy looking after guests.

How we started

Opalout Post began as a small roadside inn where travellers stopped for a meal, a card game and a bed for the night. The name comes from those early years, when the inn was the only lit outpost for miles and its owners collected opal stones from the nearby ridge.

Over the decades the inn grew into a full resort, but the original promise stayed the same. Guests should feel welcome the moment they walk in, enjoy a fair game and leave rested.

Today we welcome thousands of visitors each month, from first-time players to long-time regulars who know our dealers by name.
